History

Burkinshaws was founded over 50 years ago by Reginald Burkinshaw. Burkinshaws was initially started as a building contracting business dealing with private housing and factory units.

Plant Hire started when Reginald Burkinshaw bought a JCB and Tipper to dig out the foundations for what the business now stands on. This is when the business started to grow and more machines were introduced to hire.

In the 50 years of business Burkinshaws has worked for many large companies such as 'Yorkshire Water' and is now working with the likes of the local council (RMBC) and Henry Boot.
